Ford Escort RS 2000 - Fully restored - Pinto engine - Ready to race

A real commercial success in the 1970s, the Ford Escort Mark 1 (MK1) featured contemporary styling, thanks in particular to its 'dog bone' grille. Ford soon launched production of rally versions. These included the RS 1600 and RS 2000. The Escort was a great success, and its various evolutions became one of the most successful rally cars of all time.

The car we are offering for sale is a fully restored RS 2000. The front and rear brakes are new, as is the 2.0-litre Pinto engine, which has only clocked up 50 km. It is coupled to two new Weber 48 carburettors and a new Quaife gearbox. The radiator and fuel tank are aluminium.

As its stickers testify, the car took part in the Tour Auto 2023. This car is ready to race. Its HTA and all the safety equipment are valid (bucket seats, harnesses, fire extinguishers).
